Ice and Fire Summer Stav Camp near Glastonbury in Somerset from Wednesday 15th to Sunday the 19th July 2009. With Ivar Hafskjold and Graham Butcher. Other teachers will be added in due course, please check back for developments.

A rare opportunity to train with Ivar Hafskjold, heir to the Hafskjold–Stav tradition. So, whether you are relatively new to Stav, or if you have been practising for years, don't miss this camp.

Programme:

  • Daily practice of Stances
  • Runelore and mythology
  • Story telling and skaldic skills
  • Martial arts training including use of staff, axe, sword and practical self–defence
  • Traditional craft skills working with wood, metal and leather
  • Healer training
  • Venue: In Somerset but exact venue to be confirmed.

    The Ice and Fire 2009 Summer Camp is only open to Ice and Fire members who have already attended some training, a minimum of either one full day course or at least five lessons with a recognised instructor. Day courses are held on alternate months in oxford and Somerset. Beginners are welcome on the Warrior Camp in June. Classes are available in various parts of the country.     Cost (includes camping fees and all meals): If booked before the 30th of May £140. If booked after the 1st of June the full cost will be £160 A £50 non–refundable deposit will secure a place at the early booking rate, balance to be paid by 30th June.

    Please note that there will only be twenty student places on this course. A few part working tickets for those willing to assist with the catering are available, please apply direct to Graham if you may be interested in this.
